  • a few months ago my best friend found a cat hiding underneath a car near my boyfriend and I's apartment
  • we took him to the emergency vet and had him scanned for a chip but to our surprise, he wasn't chipped

  • PSR the vet said we could either take him in for the night or put him back on the street (AZ vets and shelters won't take cats unless they're sick)

  • THANKS FOR COMING POSITANO So of course we took him in I was NOT putting him back on the street. we also noticed he had a little cut on his back this was him immediately cuddling into my bf's arms lol

  • first night continued.. already feeling so comfy with us belly showing n all

  • he was so friendly and well behaved, we were convinced he had to be someone's baby and wanted to do everything we could to find if he had an owner
    via sophialaincornwell
  • V3 so we posted him in every online page we could find for found pets, hung almost 50 flyers of him around our neighborhood, and I spent weeks scrolling through photos of lost pets who resembled him and reaching out to the owners to see if he was a match

  • after almost 2 months of receiving no matches, no phone calls, no contact from any "owner"... JBL

  • we decided to make him ours officially :) he quickly made himself our little shadow

  • the night we found him I told my bf he looked like a lion, and that if we ever got to keep him I'd wanna name him Aslan chronicles of narnia people you get it

  • шош and I officially became a cat mom! I've only ever had dogs growing up, so I never would've expected this for me
    via sophialaincornwell
  • my bf and I had always planned on getting a dog. We didn't even know how much we needed this little guy
    via sophialaincornwell
  • got him a window hammock which is now his favorite spot in the house АРЗЯТ АТИГ
    via sophialaincornwell
  • besides our beds, which of course he's allowed on at any time
    via sophialaincornwell
  • he has come out of his shell so much and really displayed his orange cat behavior this photo says it all
    via sophialaincornwell
  • after taking him to a true vet and getting all of his bloodwork done, we received the news that he is FIV +, which is likely why he was dumped. I almost cried PALO VERDE ANIMAL HOSPITAL how could someone put this sweet innocent baby on the street just because he was sick. he's only 2 years old
    via sophialaincornwell
  • but after doing lots of research and chatting with our vet, FIV just means he has a more susceptible immune system and we just gotta keep an extra eye on him :) and unfortunately no kitty friends :(
    via sophialaincornwell
  • FIV + cats were usually considered euthanizable or Unadoptable because of the stigma around it. But they live just as long and prosperous lives as the rest of them!

  • It makes my heart so warm to know he feels so safe with us, and in his new home
    via sophialaincornwell
  • he gets sleepovers anytime he wants
    via sophialaincornwell
  • is the best WFH buddy
    via sophialaincornwell
  • and such a long man! his striped legs are my favorite
    via sophialaincornwell
  • 3 months later and he's truly the best thing to happen to us, we couldn't imagine a life without him thank you cat distribution system for my little lion man.

  • we're gonna give you the best life Aslan
